Name of the Institution : Tinsukia Commerce college.Year of report2009-2010 Part A: The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality enhancement and the outcome achieved by the end of the year. 1.To extend financial aid to 50 nos. of boys students on the basis of merit -cum-means. 2.To extend financial aid to 20 nos. of girls students on the basis of merit-cum-means. 3.To conduct one educational tour for both boys and girls students. 4.To plant valuable saplings inside the college campus. 5.To organize few programs relating career guidance,health awareness,character building etc. 6.To do renovation work of the long college entrance road. 7.To start IGNOU convergence courses. PART B: 1.Activities relating the goals and objectives of the institution: In the rapidly changing scenario of higher education ,the college has introduced need based diversified coursesunder ODL system at the UG level viz.BPP,B.A,B.COM, BBA,BCA,BMC ,DHRM,CCA under the study centreof KKHSOU (Krishna Kanta Hndique State Open University),ASSAM. By introducing IGNOU convergence programsas a partner institution thecollege has introduced certain additional courses towards attaining professional and skill based knowledge among different participants. The existing courses have been supplemented with a compulsory computer course in a parallel mode to enhance the job potential for those who cannot go for PG or any other high cost effective courses. Research activity has been strengthened and the faculty members have been encouraged to publish more research papers ,books etc and take up UGC sponsored minor research projects . 2.New academic programs initiated(UG and PG) : The institution has initiated a new Academic program under IGNOU convergence course. B.One lecture program was organized on 19.09.09 where two professors of Dibrugarh University were invited.
